Melody has been open only 6 months and it’s become our go-to for brunch, dinner, and out of town guests. The food is listed as “lazy French.” I personally prefer “California French,” as lazy French would make you think their service isn’t spectacular. And it is just that: spectacular! They remember our faces with warm smiles and greetings, we never need to flag them down for refills, and the staff is always letting us know what’s new on the menu. The menu changes seasonally with fresh ingredients that are creative and inspiring. I can still never forget the dark chocolate mousse with passion fruit and earl gray infused sea salt. The halibut with Fresno chili and kumquats and sugar snap peas. Holy shit. And the wine list is to die for: they have a low key sommelier running the place! If you have any questions or want to taste before committing to a whole glass, just ask. The peeps at Melody want you to have a good time. Lastly, it’d be a shame if I didn’t mention the little touches that make this a true gem. They support local farmers, buying all their produce from the local farmstand right next door, Rick’s Produce. They support local artists, hosting up and coming DJs almost nightly, for brunches, lazy Sundays, you name it. And the mural by Natalie Krim is amazing, I LOVE it. Melody has a special place in my heart! Keep rocking, my friends. ��

A welcome addition to our amazing neighborhood. I visited during their opening week, and dined on “Lazy french” cuisine. I can tell you I went home energized and excited for the future of Virgil Village. Rockfish was incredible with persimmons, capers, cauliflower and grapes, hanger steak was perfection with radish and mushrooms. The oysters were FRESH and exquisitely served, and the dining room and patio was gorgeous. And to top it all off, the Tart Trope dessert left both me and my partner Ryan shaking in delight. Very likely the best dessert we’ve EVER HAD. We are so impressed with the hard work from Chef Pritchett and his team, and the owners Eric and Paloma!
